ChampionBuild was the main contractor and project manager on the renovation of this 6-bedroom, 2000 sq ft Victorian house, just outside Bristol. Located in a conservation area, the renovation has beautifully restored the property’s original Victorian provenance. Formerly 3 flats, the house has returned to its initial purpose as a large family home.

Externally, structural alterations removed all existing render and replaced it with natural lime render and we installed hardwood box sash windows, with traditional stone surrounds. The front door was also sympathetically restored.

Internally, the restoration of wooden window panelling and cornicing keeps the property true to its heritage. The original 22 rooms were reduced to 14, providing large open-plan living spaces over 3 floors. Internal chimneys were removed and the basement was lowered and waterproofed – providing a playroom and utility area. A complete M&E replacement included the installation of energy efficient boilers and under floor heating in the kitchen and bathrooms.

The interior of the house is contemporary in style and includes a sleek German kitchen and utility provided by Lime Black and slimline Schüco sliding doors leading out to the garden; not only providing plenty of natural light, but views of the garden and the stunning Mendip Hills beyond.
